This article will describe the default configurations of each type of behavior and skill acquisition target option.
*Note: the layout and some names have changed since this video was recorded; however, the default settings remain the same. (Uniform targets are now referred to as multiple similar targets).
When adding a new target to a program, you will see that you have options of what type of target to create. You are not strictly limited to these types, these are just most commonly used in Motivity.
Behavior Targets
When you click on Behavior Targets, you will see options to create Frequency/Rate, Total Duration, or Interval.
Frequency/Rate
Default configurations include:
Instrument = Count
Opportunity Outcome = None
Session Outcome = None
Transition = Does not transition
Total Duration
Default configurations include:
Instrument = Duration - Stopwatch
Opportunity Outcome = None
Session Outcome = None
Transition = Does not transition
Interval
Default configurations include:
Exercise = On an interval
Instrument = Custom prompts
Opportunity Outcome = Success if score is 0
Session Outcome = Calculates average
Transition = Does not transition
Skill Acquisition Targets
When you click on Skill Acquisition Targets, you will see options to create Trial by Trial, Integer, Task Analysis, Frequency/Rate, Total Duration, and Interval. The settings for frequency, duration, and interval are the same as those discussed above.
Trial by Trial (% correct)
Default configurations include:
Instrument = Pass-Fail
Opportunity Outcome = Success if score is 100
Session Outcome = 80% across 5 trials
Transition = Does not transition
Integer (% correct)
Default configurations include:
Instrument = Integer (range 0-100)
Opportunity Outcome = Success if score is at least 80
Session Outcome = Calculates average
Transition = Does not transition
Task Analysis
Default configurations include:
Instrument = Multiple pass-fail
Opportunity Outcome = Success if average is 100
Session Outcome = Calculates average
Transition = Does not transition
Multiple Similar Targets
After selecting a target type, you will also select if you are creating multiple similar targets or one unique target.
If you select multiple similar targets, this will create a multiple target with the default configurations of whichever target type you chose. To learn more about uniform targets, refer to this help article.
**Important to note** After creating a new target, you are able to edit any and all configurations to best fit your needs. These default configurations were chosen due to the frequency they are generally used for each target type. They do not restrict your creative ability on Motivity.
