Mastery Criteria to Transition after N Successful/Failed Opportunities

TRANSITIONS: Rules Based on Opportunities

When teaching skill acquisition programs, one key principle to uphold is evaluating progress based on individual opportunities.

NOTE: This feature is only available using advanced settings.

There are two core types of transition rules to consider:

1. Performance-Based Transition RuleThis rule is based on the opportunities performed in a given phase, a transition would occur according to the opportunity outcome.

2. Completion-Based Transition RuleThis rule considers only the number of completed opportunities and with the option to select across a number of people regardless of the outcome.

Compatible with SBT and PEAK Programming

This opportunity-based framework aligns perfectly with structured programs like:

  • Skill-Based Treatment (SBT): SBT emphasizes individualized teaching moments and adaptive responding.

  • PEAK Programming: PEAK includes discrete trial and relational responding systems, both of which benefit from clear opportunity-based data collection rather than session-based tracking.
