Chart Axis Settings

Introduction

Motivity's target charts offer a variety of axis settings that allow you to customize how data is displayed. This article provides an overview of the available Y-Axis and X-Axis options to help you get the most out of your charts.

These settings are available on all standalone target charts as well as when editing charts within report templates. To access them, open a chart and find the Y-Axis or X-Axis dropdown menu, select the desired setting, and the chart will update automatically.

Y-Axis Options

There are three options for the percent correct y-axis on graphs.

1. Auto

The "Auto" option adjusts the y-axis to start at the lowest data point in your data set and end at the highest point + one row.

For example, if the data ranges from 40%–100%, the y-axis in Auto starts at 40% and goes to 100% with an extra row above.

2. 0-Auto

The "0-Auto" option adjusts the y-axis to start at zero and end at the highest point + one row.

For example, if the data ranges from 33%–100%, the y-axis in 0-Auto will start at zero and end at 100% with an extra row above.

3. 0-100

The "0-100" option adjusts the y-axis to start at zero and end at 100.

For example, if the data ranges from 33%–100%, the y-axis in 0-100 will start at zero and end at 100% with no extra rows.

If you do not manually select an option, the graph will default to 0-100.

X-Axis Options

1. Show Year

By default, the x-axis on target charts displays the month and day of data collected. For charts that span a wide range of dates, it can be difficult to differentiate which year data were collected in. The Show Year option allows you to display the year alongside the date on the x-axis.

This setting is off by default. Once enabled, the chart will continue to show the year until it is unchecked.
