Multi-Factor Authentication Overview
Multi-Factor Authentication or MFA adds another layer of security when a user logs into their Motivity account. Utilizing MFA helps protect sensitive information and reduces unauthorized access. This article will review how to set up MFA in Motivity and provide guidance on suggested authenticator apps.
Options for Authenticator Apps
Users will need to download an authentication app to begin the MFA process, you will find a couple of options that have been listed in the links below. Please review the articles to determine which authenticator app is compatible with your device. If you prefer a different authenticator app that is not included in the list, feel free to utilize another authenticator app that works for you.
Authenticator Extension for Browser
Users may find that an authenticator extension is more appropriate and works as another option for MFA. You'll need to find an extension that is compatible with your browser for configuration. This article will provide a quick guide on using an authentication extension.
Setting up MFA in My Account
Once the authenticator app has been downloaded, login to your Motivity account and click "My Account". You will find the option to set up Multi-Factor Authentication.
A prompt to begin the MFA set up will appear like so, allowing an option to begin the set up or choose to do the set up at another time, see below:

Once the previous step is completed, there will be a prompt to enter a 6-digit code from the authentication app. This is necessary to move forward with the process. Additionally, users have the option to cancel the MFA set up.
After the correct code has been entered from the authenticator app, the user is logged into Motivity. Return to "My Account", and a green icon will be displayed indicating that MFA has been successfully enabled along with the date and time stamp.
