How to Repost an Invoice

What to do when you need to repost an invoice

This article is most relevant to billers or those who may be helping their organization with billing

Introduction

The Repost button in Motivity allows users to manage claims that need to be resubmitted to the clearinghouse due to issues or updates. I

Prerequisites

To use this feature, the access to the Billing Module must be turned on, as well as the "RePost Invoice" permission under "Posted Invoice"

How to Use

-Reposting an invoice can be done through the "Posted Invoices" Module

To navigate there:

-Hover over the Motivity icon on top left corner and click on the billing menu to access this page

-Then click the third category on the left called "Posted Invoices"

-You can then click on the invoices you would like to repost, and then click the Repost button in the top right of the screen

When a user clicks on the Repost button, they are given two options:

Repost to Clearinghouse (As Is)

This option resubmits the claim to the clearinghouse without making any changes. It is useful when the claim was rejected or not processed due to external errors (e.g., clearinghouse acceptance issues) but does not require any modifications within the claim itself.

Regenerate

This option voids the claim and sends it back one step to ‘unposted batches’. It is used when there is a need to update or correct claim data (e.g., modifying CPT codes, modifiers, or fixing errors identified during claim scrubbing). After regeneration, the updated claim can be resubmitted to the clearinghouse.
