Clearinghouse Integration: Getting Started

This article is your trusty guide to successfully kicking off your Clearinghouse Integration process with your Implementation Manager (IM). Initiating this process means you're all set to begin submitting claims electronically using Motivity Practice Management (PM). Think of this as flipping the final, satisfying switch on your billing setup!

Getting your clearinghouse integrated is a huge step toward maximizing efficiency. By allowing Motivity PM to seamlessly handle your electronic claims, you're not just saving time; you're setting up a smoother, faster revenue cycle. This is the moment where manual paperwork waves a friendly goodbye and you start submitting claims with a click!

Important Considerations

Before we jump in, a couple of important notes to keep your integration journey smooth sailing:

  • The Single-System Rule: Most, if not all, clearinghouses do not support simultaneous integrations with two Practice Management systems. Enabling the integration with Motivity PM will likely automatically disable the connection with your current PM system. Switching to Motivity PM will require disconnecting from your existing setup. 

  • Timing is Everything: We strongly recommend starting this integration only when your team is fully ready to go live with Motivity PM for billing. In the meantime, you can continue handling billing manually using Motivity PM during the transition period to ensure there is no disruption in your operations.

How To Initiate Your Clearinghouse Integration

Here are the simple steps to initiate the integration process:

  1. Initiate the Process: Initiate this process with your Implementation Manager (IM) by either emailing them with a request to begin or by bringing it up during one of your training meetings.

  2. IM Coordination: Your IM will follow up to coordinate the exact timing of the integration process with you.

  3. Specific Steps Follow: Your IM will then provide you with the specific integration steps that are required by your particular clearinghouse.
