What are the system and device requirements for using Motivity?
Motivity offers both a web application, accessible via your browser, and mobile applications for Apple and Android devices, ensuring multi-platform accessibility.
To ensure the best performance, reliability, and security, we align our support with devices that receive active operating system (OS) and security updates from their manufacturers. We strongly recommend using the latest version of the operating systems and web browsers listed below.
Supported Operating Systems and Devices
Motivity is supported on the following platforms:
Apple Devices (iOS, iPadOS, macOS)
We support Apple devices running an OS version that Apple currently supports with security updates.
- Supported Devices:
- iPhones running a currently supported version of iOS
- iPads running a currently supported version of iPadOS
- Mac computers running a currently supported version of macOS
- How to Update:
- To check for and install updates on your iPhone or iPad, please see Apple's official guide: Update your iPhone or iPad.
- To check for and install updates on your Mac, please see: Update macOS on Mac.
- Official Security Policy:
- Apple's policy is to provide security updates for the latest OS versions and, in many cases, the previous two major versions. You can see which OS versions are actively receiving security patches on their official page: Apple Security Releases.
Windows Devices
We support PCs and tablets running a version of Microsoft Windows that is actively supported by Microsoft and receives regular security updates.
We strongly recommend all users run Windows 11.
- Unsupported Versions:
- Versions of Windows that have reached their "Extended Support End Date" (such as Windows 10, 8.1, and 7) are not supported. These operating systems no longer receive security fixes and are vulnerable to security risks.
- Official Security Policy:
- You can find the official "Extended Support End Date" for any Microsoft product, which is the final date it will receive security updates, by searching on their lifecycle page: Microsoft Product and Services Lifecycle Information.
Android Devices
We support Android phones and tablets that are actively receiving security updates from their manufacturer. Android's update policy is set by the device manufacturer (e.g., Samsung, Google, Motorola), not by Google alone.
You are responsible for ensuring your device is running a supported, secure version of Android.
- How to Update (General):
- To check your Android version and see if an update is available, please see Google's official guide: Check & update your Android version.
- Official Security Policies (by Manufacturer):
- Google Pixel: Google provides a guaranteed update schedule for its Pixel phones, listing the exact "end-of-life" date for security patches: Learn when you'll get software updates on Google Pixel phones.
- Samsung: Samsung lists which of its devices are receiving monthly, quarterly, or biannual security updates. If your device is no longer on this list, it is not supported: Samsung Mobile Security - Firmware Updates.
- Motorola: Motorola provides security update information for its devices here: Motorola Software Security Update.
- OnePlus: OnePlus lists the "End of Life" date for security updates for its devices on its product security page: OnePlus Product Security & Update Policy.
Supported Web Browsers
For the best experience on any platform, please use the latest stable version of a modern web browser:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari (on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS)
Note on Low-Powered Devices
While Motivity is designed to be efficient, some low-powered devices may not provide an optimal experience.
Motivity may run on devices such as Amazon Fire tablets, Kindles, or other low-specification hardware, but we do not officially support them. Performance on these devices may be slow, and we cannot guarantee full functionality or provide technical support. We recommend using the supported devices listed above whenever possible.
