Using Interval Targets as Reminders for Direct Care Staff

In Motivity, you can create one or more interval targets to send reminders to your direct care staff. Some examples of instances in which it may be helpful to set up reminders are:

  • The client is working on toilet training and should be taken to the bathroom every 30 minutes.
  • The BCBA wants to remind the RBT to start a session note 15 minutes after a session begins.
  • The BCBA wants to remind the RBT to run a particular program at a specified interval (i.e. 1 hour after the session begins).

One perk to setting up interval reminders in Motivity is that you can add an additional measure to the target, in which the direct care staff can leave notes, mark that the activity has been completed, etc,

To set up a target to act as a reminder, you will first navigate to the learner's programs. It might make sense to add a new program to house your reminders. Alternatively, you can add the reminders to an existing program. For example, if you have a TA set up for toileting and want to add a toileting reminder, it might make sense to add the target there.

Once you have determined where you would like your reminder target to be, you will add the target. Click the "+" in the left panel of the program builder --> select "Behavior" --> "Interval" --> "One Unique Target"

Here is how you would configure the target for a reminder every 30 minutes throughout the session:

If you want the reminder to pop up only once (for example, one reminder to create a note, 15 minutes after the session starts), you will set the dosage to a maximum of 1:
