1. Motivity Billing 101: Pre-Requisites
This article provides you with a list of required pre-requisites that must be completed prior to billing.
Billing Pre-Requisites
Before billing in Motivity, ensure the following core components are complete and accurate:
1. System & Provider Setup
- Admin Module is fully configured (settings, roles, locations, etc.).
- All Providers are entered (NPI, licensing, credentials).
- Typically completed by: Staff responsible for credentialing, contract management, and/or Motivity onboarding oversight.

2. Financial & Contractual
- Contracts are accurately documented (dates, rules, limits).
- CPT/HCPCS Codes and associated Rates/Fee Schedules are loaded.
- Payer Master Data is complete (electronic submission names, IDs).
- Typically completed by: Staff responsible for managing contracts and/or Provider profiles.

3. Patient & Service Data
- Patients and Authorizations are correctly entered (demographics, insurance, diagnosis, and valid authorization for services).
- Schedules/Appointments are created for all services rendered.
- Typically completed by: Staff responsible for managing patient profiles and/or authorizations.

4. Billing Integration
- Claim submission Settings are correctly configured (modifiers, code mapping).
- Clearinghouse Integration is established and tested (if applicable).
- Typically completed by: Staff responsible for managing billing.
- For more information, reach out to your Implementation Manager or Customer Success Manager.
